Font Changer: How to Change the Style of Your Text Anywhere
“Font changer” can mean three different things, and the right tool depends on what you want to change:
- The text in your bio, caption or message, where apps don’t offer a font menu.
- The font on your phone’s screen, in menus, notifications and apps.
- The font of text in a picture, video or design.
Here’s how to do each one.
1. Change the font of your bio or caption (fancy text)
Instagram, TikTok, X and WhatsApp don’t let you pick a font. Online “font changer” or “fancy text” tools get around this by converting your letters into special Unicode characters that look bold, italic, cursive or gothic:
- ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ญ๐๐ฑ๐ญ
- ๐๐พ๐ป๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ฝ
- ๐๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ ๐ฑ๐ข๐ต๐ฑ
- ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฉ๐ฅ
How to use it: type your text into a font changer tool, copy the style you like and paste it into your bio or caption.
Keep in mind: screen readers can’t read these characters properly, they make your name harder to find in search, and some older phones show them as boxes. Use them for a word or two of decoration, not for important information. We’ve collected ready-to-copy styles in Copy and paste fonts.
2. Change your phone’s font
Samsung Galaxy: go to Settings > Display > Font size and style > Font style. Tap Download fonts for more options from the Galaxy Store.
Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and some other Android phones: look in the built-in Themes app or under Settings > Display.
Google Pixel: you can change text size and turn on bold text, but not the font style.
iPhone: Apple doesn’t allow changing the system font. You can make text bigger or bold under Settings > Display & Brightness, and install extra fonts for apps like Pages and Keynote through App Store font apps.
Be careful with font changer apps. Some Android apps that promise to change your system font need you to root your phone, show heavy ads or ask for permissions they don’t need. Stick to your phone’s built-in settings or official theme store where possible.

3. Change the font of text in images and videos
If you’re making a logo, thumbnail, poster or video, use a real font:
- Logo Text Maker: type your text on our Logo Text Maker page to see it in hundreds of fonts, pick a color and download it as a transparent PNG.
- CapCut: add your own fonts for captions and titles. See How to add fonts to CapCut.
- Canva, Photoshop and other design apps: install the font on your computer (see How to install fonts on Windows) and pick it from the font menu.
Real fonts give you sharper results than fancy Unicode text, work with every letter and number, and cause no accessibility problems.
Which font changer do you need?
- For an Instagram, TikTok or X bio: a Unicode fancy text generator (copy and paste fonts).
- For your phone’s menus: your phone’s own display or theme settings.
- For a logo, image or video: a real font from Originalfonts plus an editing app, or our Logo Text Maker.
Frequently asked questions
Is a font changer safe?
Online fancy text tools are safe. They only change the characters you copy. Be more careful with apps that change your phone’s system font, especially ones that need special permissions or root access.
Can I change the font in WhatsApp?
WhatsApp doesn’t let you choose a font, but it has built-in formatting: *bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~ and monospace. You can also paste in Unicode styled text.
Why doesn’t my changed font show on other people’s phones?
Only Unicode characters travel with your text. If you changed a font in your own phone’s settings, only you see it. Other people’s phones use their own fonts.
