Are the fonts on Originalfonts really free?

Yes. Every font is free to download, and you don’t need an account. Each font’s page shows its license, so you know exactly what you’re allowed to do with it.

Can I use these fonts for commercial projects?

Most fonts on Originalfonts use open licenses, such as the SIL Open Font License or the Apache License, which allow commercial use: logos, products you sell, videos, websites and apps. Check the Can I use it? box on each font’s page to be sure. Read more in Font licenses explained.

Can I use a font in my logo?

For fonts with open licenses, yes. Keep in mind that free fonts are available to everyone, so another business could use the same font.

Do I need to credit the designer?

Open font licenses don’t require you to credit the designer in your designs, although it’s always appreciated. If you share the font files themselves, you must include the license file that came with them.

Can I sell or share the font files?

You can share open-license fonts as long as you include their license file. The SIL Open Font License does not allow selling the font files by themselves.

How do I install a font?

Unzip the download, then right-click the font file and choose Install on Windows, or double-click it and click Install on a Mac. See our full guide: How to install fonts and How to install fonts on Windows.

Why doesn’t my new font show up in Word, Photoshop or CapCut?

Close the app completely and open it again after installing. Make sure you installed the .ttf or .otf file, not the ZIP. For CapCut, see How to add fonts to CapCut.

Can I use these fonts on my website?

Open-license fonts can be used on websites. Upload the font files to your own server and load them with CSS, or convert them to WOFF2 first for faster loading. See our font converter guide.

Do you have fonts for other languages?

I designed a font. Can I add it to Originalfonts?

We’d love to see it. Upload it on our Submit a Font page. We review every submission and email you when your font is live.
